CI Plus
NEOTION
is one of the six founders of CI Plus LLP. CI Plus standard is a technical specification that adds security and features to the proven DVB-CI Common Interface standard. CI Plus functionalities have became a true requirement to promote CAM over traditional Pay TV markets.
CAM technology is an alternative solution to set-top boxes with a superior user experience (easy to use) and the guarantee to secure Premium content for pay TV operators. CI Plus members are focusing on proposing continuously an extensive set of features to comply with the new usages, while preserving the interests of the content owners and service operators by the mean of providing the adequate security and C&R regimes to secure their revenues.
CI Plus Standard is thus constantly evolving. The specifications of the latest
CI Plus version 1.3 bring new functionalities such as:
•Operator service list management (Operator profile)
•PVR improvement
•Improved PIN Code Management
•Enhanced CI Plus copy protection (URI)
•HD Graphics
•Increased LSC Channel Bandwidth
•Specific support for cable VOD (Host control)
Following the introduction of the first devices compliant with the CI Plus 1.3 revision in Summer 2012, CI Plus members are working on the specifications of the version 1.4 expected to be released by end of 2012 and in operation by mid-2014.
